Masterson’s Tavern , situated in the center of Moonee Ponds , advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my recent visit at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I encountered behind its entrance was shocking and unacceptable on multiple levels .
The Condition of the Premises : Squalid and Abandoned
From the moment I walked in , it was apparent that cleanliness was not a priority at this bar . The surfaces were tacky , and a nauseating aroma of stale beer and uncleaned toilets suffused the entire venue . Smelling a mixture of human waste, putrefaction and a sickly smell. The bar area , which should be the focal point of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and litter that looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages . As I investigated further , I was appalled to find numerous complaints against him involving predatory behavior , with multiple women here citing incidents of sending unsolicited explicit content .
